roMa Inclusion thRough vocAtioNal eDucAtion
MIRANDA Roma is an innovative project aiming to promote social inclusion through vocational training and improve the outreach to people with fewer opportunities. This will be achieved through: i) the identification of stakeholders the sector who can help and play an important role in reaching out to Roma learners. ii) the mapping/research with stakeholders to fully understand the problems of inclusion and improve VET Schools and reduce the employment gap of the Roma minority. MIRANDA Roma aims also to address the barriers that Roma adults face in accessing opportunities in the labor market, as well as to contribute to the creation of inclusive environments that promote equality and equity in education.
This is provided by Inclusion empowerment of the VET Schools interventions & project activities which aim to empower the inclusion of VET Schools for Roma learners, such as developing an operational framework for VET Schools, through which Roma learners will be able to overcome the linguistic, social, and economic barriers they face during their studies, and to integrate into the labor market.
Moreover, educational barriers are addressed via developing innovative methods with digital content and audiovisual tool, as well as via the training of Trainers/Staff to transform horizontal the VET School into a more inclusive environment for Roma learners. Overall the project is aimed at facilitating the integration of excluded groups into new and more inclusive learning environments and increasing attractiveness of VET among Roma learners and in the Roma community in general.
